i would like to echo enthusiasm for cultstuck because damn, AMAZING STORY.
AGH cultstuck is basically amazing!
Cultstuck is one of my most favorite fics.
:DD Thanks! It really means a lot to me that Cultstuck is being so well received — the last time I wrote anything longer than 3 chapters, Yu-Gi-Oh was still fresh and I was utterly starry-eyes over its garbled mythology (not so much over the card game tho). The plans I made for my epic broken-english Yu-Gi-Oh fanfic. I think I even outlined them to a ff.net reviewer, that poor soul. Cultstuck is slightly more complex, but at least it shouldn’t involve the characters’ College Years.
I’m having some trouble with the next chapter — it’s kind of moving at the rate of a line a week — and it’s hard to concentrate over the sound of Sullen Silent Drama permeating my house even though these comments really make me want to go and advance a little more just for your sakes. I bring you some offerings to make up for it, though:
Sometimes I just feel like sitting down and dressing Karkat up in ridiculous religious finery. The above is a tabard in black and silver, possibly the least elaborate thing Karkat is allowed to wear in the caves (with the exception of the awful unadorned bright red one). Bellow is something a little more ceremonial. It’s missing this humongous translucent floaty red blanket thingy that makes him look really messianically impressive and also slightly bridal when he doesn’t have it wrapped up in a ball around his arm or something. The blanket thingy is kind of ubiquitous to all his ceremonial outfits.
I’m pretty sure he has several other tiers of fancy ceremonial clothes. The Dolorosa Devotees get really bored sometimes and no one will object to colors on him.
